LICENTIATE IN MORAL THEOLOGY

1. Vision: This is envisioned to promote systematic and critical reflection on the perennial values of Christ’s Gospel that moulds and directs the history of humankind in the light of revelation and the day-to-day human experience.

2. Objectives

  1. To reflect scientifically on abiding Christian values in relation to the context of Indian society;
  2. To train personnel for teaching who can meaningfully present the values of the Gospel to the contemporary mind;
  3. To promote study and research regarding applicability of Christian moral principles in the socio-religious-cultural context today;
  4. To help pastoral ministers and religious formators to integrate Christian moral values in the day-to-day life of their communities.

As a postgraduate programme, the emphasis will be on participatory study and personal research under the guidance of the faculty. The course will consist of lectures, seminars, research papers, field-study and dissertation in the area of specialization. The students will be encouraged to have some teaching experience.
