MASTER OF ARTS IN PHILOSOPHY (MA)

The two-year (four semesters) Master’s Programme in Philosophy, offered in association with the Department of Philosophy, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) aims at providing a comprehensive synthesis of various philosophical disciplines to develop a critical and analytical approach to all major areas of human inquiry.
The objectives of the Master’s Programme in Philosophy include the following: (i) prepare the students to teach philosophy in centres of higher education, (ii) equip them to perform functions that demand higher competence in national/international organizations, (iii) train them in scientific research, and (iv) help the students to find meaning in life by broadening their perspectives.
The Master’s Degree in Philosophy, awarded by the CHRIST (Deemed to be University) at the end of the successful completion of the four-semester programme, qualifies the students for admission to Doctorate in Philosophy in all the Departments/Faculties all over the world.
Eligibility
It is open to all who hold a Bachelor’s Degree (BA, BCom, BSc, or any equivalent degree) from a recognized University with 50% of marks in aggregate of all the subjects.
