RESEARCH EXPERIENCE:

PhD Thesis on: “Religion and Radical Pluralism: A Critical Analysis of Rawls’s Public Reason and Gandhi’s Stance.”

Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Peter Jonkers

This study explored the question of the role of religion in the public sphere through the writings of John Rawls and Mahatma Gandhi. Rawls’s and Gandhi’s contrasting and complementary realms of divergence and convergence were discussed through the framework of the three objections (integrity, fairness and divisiveness) against public reason that restricts the expression of religious arguments in the public sphere.

Licentiate in Theology Thesis: The Catholic Church in a Secular World:

Exploring Benedict XVI’s and Charles Taylor’s Response to Catholic Modernity in Europe

Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Marcel Sarot

Through the framework of two prominent basic orientations of the faithful (dwelling and seeking) in contemporary European society, this research analysed Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI’s (Joseph Ratzinger) and Charles Taylor’s response to secular modernity.

Bachelor of Theology Research Paper: “National Identity Cards as a Challenge to Human Dignity: A Theological Response.”

Supervisor:  Prof. Dr. Geo Pallikunnel

The research analysed and critiqued the implementation of Aadhaar, the national identity card in India as it would pose serious threat to the privacy of an individual in a country where there the constitution does not guarantee privacy. The compromise on privacy challenges the dignity of human person as it is grounded on the Aristotelian-Thomistic paradigm.

Licentiate in Philosophy Thesis:  “Philosophical Dynamics of Chaos and Complexity Theories”

Supervisor:  Prof. Dr. Mathew Chandrankunnel

It was a study on the shift in emphasis from Newtonian Determinism and Linearity to Indeterminism and Nonlinearity in Chaos Theory together with its philosophical implications.

Bachelor of Philosophy Research Paper: “Utilitarianism of Call Centers Decoded: A Critique On The Preference Utilitarian View Points Among Call Center Employees”

Supervisor:  Prof. Dr. Saju Chackalackal

This research was a critique on the use of Call Centre employees in India, which operates from a utilitarian point of view based on preference utilitarianism of Peter Singer.
